Tesla touts top sales at Detroit auto show

Tesla credits the "exceptional cold weather performance" of its Model S for 20 percent-higher-than-expected Q4 sales of 6,900 units, bringing total Model S sales worldwide to 25,000 so far. Ferrari looks at layoffs, cuts back production

The word out of Italy is that Ferrari is looking at cutting production and eliminating 9 percent of its workers after sister company Maserati cut engine orders. Ferrari made only about 4,500 engines for Maserati last year, compared with nearly 9,000 in 2008.
