For 2002-2006 MINI Cooper S (R53), a complete ignition upgrade to complement the addition of a 15% or 17% supercharger reduction pulley. Includes a direct replacement coil, Iridium Plugs and 8.5mm superconductor plug wires designed with improved materials and windings to produce a stronger output. More spark = more power! The Iridium IX is a single electrode plug and is available as a 'colder'
range plug for modified Cooper S models with 15% or 17% reduction SC
pulley. Iridium plugs are considered better than Platinum because of
increased durability and a higher melting point as well having higher
resistance to oxidation and erosion. Designed specifically for the
performance enthusiast. Iridium IX® offers extreme ignitability,
improved throttle response and superior anti fouling. The Iridium plugs are one-step colder to take advantage of increased pressure and temperatures from the addition of a reduction supercharger pulley (sold separately).
Coilpack (MSD 8239):
This improved spark helps burn the fuel mixture more efficiently, resulting in a smooth idle and improved midrange RPM power
The coil is designed to deliver a strong spark and will connect to factory wiring
The MSD coil features flat terminals, please check your current coilpack before ordering
May require use of four replacement bolts (not included), but you can find them at your local hardware store or home center.
8.5 mm Super Conductor Plug Wire Set (MSD 32879):
Copper alloy conductor has a resistance value of less than 50 ohms per foot for superior spark
Ferro-magnetic impregnated core creates an effective EMI choke
Forty feet of conductor is wound into a single foot of wire for high EMI suppression; Conductor core features Dupont Kevlar material for increased tensile strength
Durable outer sleeve is a proprietary compound for resistance to high heat or abrasion
Stainless steel terminals feature dual crimp tabs to grip wire conductor and outer jacket separately
NGK's IX Iridium Series Plugs were Designed Specifically for the Performance Enthusiast. These plugs (NGK 6988/BKR7EIX-11)) are one step colder than stock to make up for the increased temperatures associated with the addition of a 15% or 17% supercharger reduction pulley (sold separately). Includes a set of 4 plugs.
Fine Wire Center Electrode Ensures High Durability and a Consistently Stable Spark
Iridium Alloy has an Extremely High Melting Point, Perfect for Today's High-Tech, High Performance Engines
Trivalent Metal Plating Provides Superior Anti-Corrosion and Anti-Seizing Properties
Corrugated Ribs Prevent Flashover
Pure Alumina Silicate Ceramic Insulator, Provides Superior Strength and Better Heat Transfer
Volvo are investing £7 billion in their future – half of that in Sweden – and the first model to benefit will be the long overdue 2014 Volvo XC90. Just like all of Ford’s premium automotive adventures - Land Rover, Jaguar and Aston Martin included – Volvo has suffered from a long period of under investment but now – with China’s Geely in charge – they’re forging ahead with big investment and big plans to try and emulate the turnaround Tata has accomplished at JLR. That means an investment of £7 billion over the next three years – £3.5 billion of that in Sweden – in a new scalable architecture (SPA) platform and new Volvo engine architecture (VEA) to underpin most of Volvo’s future models.
Sebastian Vettel (pictured) is in pole position for the Indian Grand Prix
Sebastian Vettel had a chance to take the 2013 F1 drivers title in Japan, but Alonso managed to spoil that by finishing in fourth spot. But there seems little to stop Vettel taking the title in India tomorrow after a dominant display put him in pole position for tomorrow’s race. Vettel took pole by 0.752s from Rosberg with Rosberg’s team mate, Lewis Hamilton taking third spot and the second Red Bull of Mark Webber lining up in fourth.
A Lamborghini source has apparently revealed that the Italian supercar firm’s replacement for the Gallardo – due next in 2014 – will be called the Huracan. The insider let slip to Auto Express that the new V10-powered supercar will be called Huracan, which is Spanish for hurricane. This is in contrast to earlier reports that suggested the Gallardo replacement would be called the Cabrera.
