Launching this Friday, this year's contest once again challenges design students from across North America to take on one of four briefs from GMC, Buick, Chevrolet or Cadillac. So after a tease for the new Kia Rio last month, the bland (albeit it cheap) Kia Rio makes way for the Kia version of the i20 – the 2012 Kia Rio – which will make its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in a couple of weeks, with the five door Kia going on sale in September and the three door on sale in early 2012.

It’s almost two years since the Porsche 918 Spyder debuted at the Geneva Motor show as a potential 21st century eco-replacement for the Carrera GT. The amount of interest shown – and offers of deposits – persuaded Porsche to confirm the 918 Spyder for production last March, but it’s still more than eighteen months away from arriving on the road.
