MSD Ignition 85501 Locked Advance Pro-Billet Locked-Out Distributors Distributor, Chevy V8, Pro-Billet, Locked, Cap, Rotor MSD Pro-billet locked-out distributors are built from strong billet aluminum for engines that run locked-out timing or an MSD timing computer. With no advance assembly, the rotor plate is welded directly to the oversized shaft. A sealed ball bearing guides the top of the shaft, while an extra-long sintered bushing stabilizes the lower portion. This extra support ensures stable and accurate timing signals throughout your engine's entire rpm range. Trigger signals are produced via a high-output magnetic pickup. This pickup is extremely accurate and never requires adjustment. A precision-manufactured reluctor is responsible for triggering the pickup. Since this distributors are designed primarily for race engines, an oversized (+.006 in.) bronze gear is installed, along with an adjustable slip collar for modified blocks, heads, or intake manifolds. Sun, 09 Jun 2013The Mercedes SLS AMG ED (pictured) set a new EV lap record at the Nurburgring Just as Audi decides that the R8 e-Tron isn’t a production viable option, Mercedes decides to prove there is potential for electric cars at the very high end. The Mercedes SLS AMG Electric Drive has been to the Nurburgring and set a new lap record for a production electric car of just 7 minutes 55 seconds. The SLS AMG ED, which goes on sale very soon at more than £300k, may weigh a chunk more than a regular SLS (550kg more), but it gets plenty of help from its four electric motors – one at each corner – to overcome the weight of its batteries with 751bhp and 737lb/ft of torque on hand.

Honda’s Insight for Europe revealed
Wed, 21 Jan 2009Honda Insight for UK undercuts the Prius [ad#ad-1] Last week at the Detroit Motor Show, Honda revealed its Prius-challenging Insight Hybrid, and has today revealed details on the UK/Euro version. The new Insight, which utilises a 1.3 litre petrol engine with 88bhp, coupled with a 14bhp electric motor to give a 0-60 of just over 12 seconds and 113mph, has very low Co2 of 101-105g/km (which means just £35 VED – but if only they’d shaved that a smidge it would have been a freebie) which is very creditable. Honda has the Prius firmly in its sights with this car, and it aims to comfortably undercut the Prius on price.
