This boot is an original one, with the rubber underboot and shift lever from  a 1985 SVO. The car was wrecked at 32K miles and never put back on the road in 1989. The leather is in good condition although needs some light cleaning and conditioning. No tears or holes or loose threads.

Rather than offering a low CO2 alternative to the internal combustion engine, it seems electric cars start their life with an extra 40,000 miles worth of CO2 already on the clock. Despite bribes from governments around the world to get car buyers to buy in to electric cars, they’ve been a flop. But that’s not surprising.

Bentley Mulsanne convertible concept debuts

Bentley will expand the Mulsanne lineup with a glitzy convertible version, previewed by a concept that debuted at Pebble Beach. The British droptop would likely share mechanical pieces with the coupe, meaning a twin-turbo 6.75-liter V8 making 505 hp and 752 lb-ft of torque paired with an eight-speed automatic and rear-wheel chassis. Technical specifications were not confirmed.

17,000 solar panels to power Toyota’s Derbyshire plant

Toyota’s manufacturing plant at Burnaston in Derbyshire, where the Auris and Avensis are built, will install the biggest solar panel system yet seen in a UK car plant.  British Gas, which will stump up the £10 million cost of installing the solar panels, and Toyota are working together to save 2000 tonnes of CO2 emissions a year. Once the solar panels are installed, they claim it will save enough energy to build approximately 7000 cars a year.
