Porsche 911 GT3 R Hybrid at the Nurburgring – Video
Wed, 28 Apr 2010The Porsche 911 GT3 R Hybrid Nurburgring video below In February we reported that Porsche has developed the unthinkable – a hybrid 911. But this wasn’t a hybrid 911 with a bank of batteries and a fluffy-bunny conscience, but a rampant track 911 with a great big electro-magnetic flywheel and a KERS-like thump of an extra 160bhp – the Porsche 911 GT3 R Hybrid. The 911 GT3 R uses technology developed by Williams F1 and comprises of a pair of generators in the front wheels that shove energy to a composite flywheel (conveniently located next to the driver – not sure how well that would go down on a road0going version) which is the stored and can be thrown at the back wheels whenever the driver wants, in a way very similar to KERS.
Ford Evos concept car (2011) news and pictures
Wed, 31 Aug 2011Ford launched its new Evos concept as no less than its new global design direction at a pre-Frankfurt show event in Berlin yesterday. Pay attention to the new Evos - it sets a blueprint for life after the Kinetic design language that has shaped Fords for the past few years. All its design big guns were in attendance to reinforce the Evos’s worldwide significance from overall design chief J Mays to his two regional executive design directors, Martin Smith and Moray Callum.
Spyker B6 Venator Spyder concept to debut at Pebble Beach
Wed, 31 Jul 2013The Spyker B6 Venator Spyder Pebble (B6 Coupe pictured) looks to be heading for a debut at Pebble Earlier this year we managed to trawl through the rather dry annual report from Spyker and discovered that plans were afoot for a Spyder version of the B6 Ventador Concept we first saw at the Geneva Motor Show in March. We managed to follow that up with the news that we’d heard a convincing whisper that Spyker were planning to give the Venator Spyder a full public debt at Frankfurt in September, but ahead of that would reveal the B6 Spyder to attendees at this year’s Salon Prive first. That whisper has now been given additional credence with a report from Autoblog that a voice in Spyker has revealed that the B6 Venator Spyder will actually get its first outing at Pebble Beach in less than three weeks.
