The Arsenal players and ENB dancers with the Citroen DS5 The Arsenal players and ENB dancers with the Citroen DS5 In a slightly odd promotion for the Citroen DS5, Citroen has teamed up Arsenal players with the English National Ballet It looks a bit like Citroen has been taking notice of MINI’s somewhat off-the-wall promotions for their cars and have decided a great way to get the DS5 – now it’s on sale in the UK –  front and central is to take Arsenal players Alex Song, Wojciech Szczesny, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Bacary Sagna off to the English National Ballet to get some lessons. We’re assuming the link with the DS5 is supposed to be all about elegance, power, shape, beauty, grace or any number of ways you can describe ballet and, by association, the Citroen DS5. We get treated to the Arsenal players doing a lift or two, managing a Plié at the bar and even a Pas de deux, Pirouette and an Arabesque (and now we’ve run out of ballet terminology).

It may be leaden with PR-talk but this short presentation by Yasushi Nakamuta, Mazda's director of advanced design studio at the press unveiling of the new Mazda 3 in Melbourne is still worth a couple of minutes of your time. But while the 3 is undeniably attractive we can't help but feel that the 'unique' design process Nakamuta describes (which appears wholly conventional to us) has resulted in little more than a thoroughly normal product. The BMW 2 Series active Tourer moves to the butch side with an M Sport Package Purists moan, but the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer MPV is a sensible move by BMW and aimed at BMW lovers who need a BMW equivalent to the Mercedes B Class; a premium family car for shifting kids and stuff around. Using the same platform as the all new MINI, the 2 Series Active Tourer is BMW’s first front wheel drive car, although a 225i Active Tourer will go on sale in November complete with BMW’s 4WD xDrive. But the 2 Series Active Tourer wouldn’t be a BMW offering unless it also came with the option of an M Sport Pack, which is exactly what will be on offer – however unsuited the Active Tourer may seem for such sporty embellishments – when the xDrive Active Tourer arrives in November (although the M Sport Pack will be offered across the whole Active Tourer range).
