So with solid funding from ‘Vlad the Investor’, CPP are on a fast road to being a sizeable force in world car manufacture; not in the volume sense, but certainly in the impact their products are making. Despite pointing out to us that they haven’t actually bought Zagato (technically correct) Zagato is now very much part of the CPP portfolio, as is extreme off-roader Bowler – a more recent acquisition – both solid names to exploit in a high-end car maker future Nirvana.

The 525bhp Mercedes E63 AMG gets blatted round the Brooklands track in the video below When you produce a mid sized saloon car with a great big 6.2 litre V8 you can be pretty sure that when journalists get the chance to play they’re going to be a little exuberant with your car. The cosmetic changes for the A7 and S7 are not exactly overwhelming, with a new single frame grill at the front, new bumpers, new tailpipes and new lights. The usual facelift fodder.
