EVs are back in Revenge of the Electric Car
Wed, 28 Sep 2011Revenge of the Electric Car, by writer/director Chris Paine, follows General Motors' Bob Lutz, Nissan's Carlos Ghosn, Tesla's Elon Musk and backyard inventor Greg "Gadget" Abbott from 2007 to 2010, when their respective companies were getting in (or returning) to the electric-car game. Paine also wrote and directed the contentious 2006 documentary Who Killed the Electric Car? That film followed the GM EV1 electric vehicle from buyer's hands to the junkyard when the company controversially collected and destroyed them all.
GM claims 23-mpg average in E-ROD 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air
Thu, 23 Jun 2011First introduced in 2009, the GM Performance Parts (GMPP) E-ROD program was born with the mission of creating fuel-efficient, emissions-compliant engine packages for hot-rodders. Now the program is back in the news as GMPP claims that an E-ROD-powered 1955 Bel Air returned 23 mpg on a trip from Michigan to Florida while producing emissions comparable to those of a new Camaro SS. All of that green doesn't come inexpensive--or easy.
Chevrolet TrailBlazer debuts at Dubai international motor show
Thu, 10 Nov 2011The Chevrolet TrailBlazer made its return on Thursday at the Dubai international motor show. The show vehicle is a precursor to the production version but is very similar, according to General Motors. The seven-passenger TrailBlazer looks a lot like GM's recent SUV and crossover entries, with a rounded body, curved headlight housings and LED accents.
