Essentially a roofless, hardcore track focused version of the 2007 Coupe, the Monza is a pure sports car. Penned by Ercole Spada, the Monza is a light weight sports car that retains the taught, angular surfacing of the coupe and familar aggressive DRG and tapered rear but loses all forms of weather proofing in the name of weight.
General Motors says Magna's Opel bid has obstacles, RHJ's is easier to accept
Wed, 29 Jul 2009General Motors Co. says a bid for Opel from Magna International faces hurdles while a rival offer from Belgian investor RHJ International would be easier to accept. Writing on GM Europe's Web site, John Smith, GM's chief negotiator for the Opel sale, says Magna's bid "contained elements around intellectual property and our Russian operations that simply could not be implemented." Fri, 24 Jun 2011If you've always wanted a new Bugatti, you'll have to settle for the Grand Sport: All 300 cars in the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 model run have found homes, the last one having been ordered by a European customer who will take delivery next autumn. The Veyron came to life in concept form at the Tokyo motor show a year after the Volkswagen Group bought the rights to the Bugatti name in 1998. The Veyron was the first production car to have a full carbon-fiber monocoque, and its 8.0-liter W16 engine produced 1,001 hp and 922 lb-ft of torque, mated to a seven-speed twin-clutch gearbox.
