2011 Infiniti G37 Convertible It’s not five minutes since Infiniti introduced the G37 – a 3-Series size car – to the UK and Europe, but already they’re tweaking and titivating to make it more appealing. The Infiniti G37 range consists of three body styles – saloon, coupe and convertible – and all three get the 3.7 litre V6 and a seven-speed auto ‘box with paddle-shift  as standard, with new alloys and paint colours offered across the range. The Infiniti G Saloon comes in four flavours – G37, G37x GT, G37 x GT Premium and G37 S Premium.

THE ROMANIAN military has apparently displayed an armoured and machine gun-equipped version of the humble Dacia Duster 4x4. The army-grade Duster has been given a degree of bulletproof plating, as well as under-body armour for the most vulnerable areas like the engine and fuel tank. However, it’s the remote-controlled machine gun mounted on the roof that’s sure to raise the most eyebrows.

BMW i3 Range Extender engine adds 10% to the price The BMW i3 – BMW’s first foray in to a world of electric cars – was officially revealed in July – and due on sale in 2014 – and seems, by electric car standards, to be almost affordable. At a starting price of £30,680 – £25,680 after the taxpayer bribe for EV buyers – it’s no more expensive than other electric cars and does come with some clever technology – and the BMW badge – that will help it move out of showrooms. But as we reported as far back as 2011, the BMW i3 is to get a range-extender option – a small petrol engine that kicks in to recharge the batteries when they get low – which will make the i3 a much more practical proposition.
