Audi A5 and Audi S5 Cabriolets announced With the Audi A5 Cabriolet and the Audi S5 Cabriolet scheduled for launch in the Spring, Audi has released details of both models today, together with a whole heap of images. The A5 Cabriolet offers up four petrol versions – 1.8TFSI, 2.0TSI (in either 180bhp or 210bhp guise) and a 3.2FSI – and a couple of diesels – the 2.7TDI and the 3.0TDI. The S5 Cabriolet gets the new Supercharged V6 with 333bhp we told you about in November.

Mercedes-Benz considering Aston Martin buyout

Mercedes-Benz is reportedly considering a deal to buyout sports car manufacturer Aston Martin, fuelling rumours that the canned Aston Martin Lagonda SUV concept from 2009 (pictured above) could once again be back on. The move would see Merc increase its current 5% stake in the British brand following a deal announced last year to supply AMG engines for Aston’s next generation of sports cars. Renault to preview future design strategy with Ross Lovegrove

Renault will unveil a new concept car that will underline its future design direction at next month's Triennale of Milan. The carmaker, which has released a set of teaser images, has worked alongside designer Ross Lovegrove's Lovegrove Studio to explore fresh design languages. Lovegrove is known for his organically inspired designs and this concept will continue that theme, examining nature and its systems to raise "awareness and understanding of those phenomena and their current impact".
