THESE ARE FOR THE 1932,1933,1934,1935,1936 FORD FLATHEADS.THIS IS A NICE NOS PAIR OF ORIGINAL TYPE ENGINE THERMOSTATS  THAT MOUNT IN THE CENTER OF THE UPPER RADIATOR HOSES. THEY ARE HELD IN PLACE WITH AN EXTERNAL RADIATOR HOSE CLAMP. THE CLAMPS ARE NOT INCLUDED.THIS IS THE FACTORY THERMOSTAT AND THE METHOD OF MOUNTING. THESE WERE INTRODUCED IN 1933 AND CARRIED FORWARD TO 1936. THE PART NUMBER IS 40-8575-A. WITHOUT THESE THERMOSTATS YOU WILL HAVE COOLING PROBLEMS (STATS ACT AS A WATER FLOW RESTRICTOR TO IMPROVE RESIDENCE TIME OF WATER HELD IN THE RADIATOR). WITHOUT THESE ENGINE EFFICIENCY AND SMOOTHNESS OF OPERATION SUFFERS.THESE THERMOSTATS ARE CONSTRUCTED WITH BI-METAL OPERATING SPRINGS INSTEAD OF THE GAS OR LIQUID FILLED BELLOWS FOUND IN MOST THERMOSTATS. THESE WERE POLISHED UP A LITTLE TO GET SOME OF THE 80 YEAR OLD GRIME OFF. THEY HAVE BEEN TESTED IN HOT WATER AND OPEN UP NICELY. THESE ARE GETTING EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO LOCATE. 2013 Astra Convertible spied on video – The new Vauxhall Calibra / Opel Manta?

2013 Astra Convertible Spy Vauxhall and Opel have now managed to reveal much of the new Astra Model range – with the Astra GTC debuting at Frankfurt last month being the latest – but there’s still the drop-top Astra Convertible to come. The 2013 Astra Convertible – which may arrive as the new Vauxhall Calibra – has been caught on video testing ahead of an expected debut at Paris in 2012, before going on sale across Europe in 2013. Looking very much like the GTC with a cloth top, the new Astra Convertible loses the tin-top of the old model and gets a folding canvas top in the name of economy, lightness and dynamics.

Ken Block & Rob Dyrdek Driving & Drifting The last report we did on Ken Block was after he delighted Top Gear’s James May with his antics in California, but now we have what can probably best be described as a comic teaser for what will be his next big video outing – Gymkhana 3.0. In this video – dubbed Gymkhana 2.1 – Ken Block gets a new sidekick – professional skateboarder Rob Dyrdek – who takes to a ‘Mini-Me’ kart version of Ken’s WRX Subaru in a playful drifting and playing game. The video is full of amusing comparisons, but just in case you don’t get it’s supposed to be funny we get treated to the Benny Hill theme tune – you know, the one where Benny gets chased in quick-time by a bunch of be-stockinged lovelies.

Mitsubishi i MiEV electric car launched in Japan at around £20,000 Until now, electric cars have been very much an oddity. The laughable G-Whiz and the Tesla Roadster are interesting in their own way, but unless you want to look like Noddy’s best friend (G-Whiz) or are happy to have a second-rate Lotus Elise at three times the price (Tesla), there wasn’t much to appeal to the normal car buyer. But it’s changing.
