These kits include our Gasser straight front axle, semi-elliptical springs, spindles, kingpins, steering arms, tierod kit, brake kit, and hardware. Comes with Wilwood brake kit. Brake lines not included. Shocks not included, but shock mounts are included. Assembly required.

Note: Wilwood brakes increase hub-to-hub width by 1/2".

Gasser Kit w/ "Chevy" Spindles
  • Leaf springs, 31-1/4" long x 1-3/4" wide
    • 6 leaf, 1/4" thick
    • 400 lbs/inch spring rate
  • Chevy-style spindles (forged steel)
    •   Modeled after the 1949-54 Chevy passenger car spindle
Specs:
  1. If using steel wheels with Wilwood kit, you will also need to purchase (2) steel shims part 835-3007500. These shims will prevent steel wheels from galling the aluminum hub.
  2. Rubber brake hoses generally cannot be adapted to Wilwood calipers. The caliper inlet fitting is a 1/8-27 NPT. The preferred method is to use steel adapter fittings at the caliper, either straight, 45 or 90 degree and enough steel braided line to allow for full suspension travel and turning radius, lock to lock.

Australian couple breaks Guinness record for fuel economy

An Australian couple has broken their own record for fuel economy, light-footing it across the lower 48 American states to the tune of 67.90 mpg. Helen and John Taylor beat the mark of 58.82 mpg that they set last year, landing them again in the Guinness Book of Records. They drove a 2009 Volkswagen Jetta TDI for both runs.
