New!!! 1965 Buick Riviera Walnut Door Panel Set W/correct Striping on 2040-parts.com
West Dennis, Massachusetts, United States
Updated, higher quality pictures will be coming shortly! (Shown are the '63 - '64 door panels) Door panel set for the 1965 Buick Riviera with Custom interior. Correct Quarter-sawn Walnut with correct 1/16" stripes and 3M Peel and Stick backing for a hassle free installation. As with my console veneer, the grain is centered and flows from the front door panel to the rear. Additionally, the driver and passenger side panels are mirrored, so that they are an exact match from side to side. Doing this creates a lot of waste and I may offer this feature as an extra price option in the future, but for now it stands. Definitely show-quality! Due to the many variations of options, no holes have been drilled, but you can use the steel backing plate as a template. With this set, the door panel has to be taken apart completely and the veneer installed like they did at the factory. If you chisel the nibs off of the Riviera emblem, you should be able to re-use it. I don't believe they are being reproduced yet. I also offer an undersized door panel set for those who want to just install them over the existing veneer, without the hassle of taking everything apart. The downside would be making holes for vent window cranks, remote mirror, etc.- also chances are that the Riviera emblem will be un-useable after prying it of the original veneer. However, it is an option I offer and would save a lot of time and effort for those who want an easy way of improving the look of their interior. Let me know if you want this option. Initially there will be 2 weeks wait time from time of purchase as I work to build up inventory. |

Toyota ME.WE Concept: It’s an egalitarian EV
Wed, 24 Apr 2013Based on the electric running gear of the Toyota i-Road we saw at Geneva (but with a full set of wheels) Toyota and Massaud have created an urban vehicle that takes transport back to the basics; a 2CV for the 21st century, perhaps, or a grown up home-made kart seems to be where the ME.WE is at. The construction of the ME.WE comprises a tubular aluminium chassis and a pile of interchangeable polypropylene panels that can change the function of the ME.We from city car to convertible to pickup to 4×4 (thanks to electric motors on both axles) and is, by any definition, transport and not a car you’d have to make a statement. Inside is just as basic with a single dial for the instruments, flat surfaces made from bamboo (designers love a bit of bamboo), batteries for the electric motors under the floor and you have to store any luggage on the roof under a weatherproof cover.

Land Rover DC100 concept
Wed, 31 Aug 2011Land Rover's new DC100 concept vehicle is due to make its debut at the 2011 Frankfurt motor show, with the manufacturer also confirming that a new Defender is anticipated for 2015. The DC100 concept will be building upon the existing characteristics of the car and it is hoped that the concept will act as a catalyst for debate concerning the future of Defender models. The design team is headed by Gerry McGovern, Land Rover's director of design, who says, "This isn't a production-ready concept but the beginning of a four-year journey to design a relevant Defender for the 21st century." John Edwards, global brand director at Land Rover, explains that the manufacturer wants to engage with existing customers to finalise the details of the new vehicle as part of their plans to direct the future of the Defender.
