New! 364709 Gm Chevrolet 350 Nascar "mall" Chev Balancer Dampener Corvette Vette on 2040-parts.com
Clinton Township, Michigan, United States
This is a new and unused 8 inch torsional/vibration dampener balancer, part number 364709, as originally shown in the GM (now Chevrolet) Performance catalog. These nodular iron dampeners marked with the "MALL" insignia were originally used in 350 Chev smallblock NASCAR motors because of their ability to withstand 8000 RPM with total reliability. The construction of these dampeners were balanced to racing specifications, and the elastomer ring used is a high-temp material - as advertised by GM. This balancer, as I understand it, is intended for internally balanced, post 1969 smallblock motors, those with a 10 degree advance timing mark (this as opposed to the 2 degree advance mark on pre-1969 motors). The nodular hub and outer ring of these units were balanced separately upon construction - then the fully assembled unit was again balanced as one component. This is a high-quality part at a very reasonable part, no doubt. This is Detroit, and I purchased this balancer a good number of years ago (like back in the 1990's), and it has been sitting on a shelf in storage all these years. This part has never been on a motor. The tiny amount of corrosion evident on the unit is shown in the photos. This unit is as-found following storage, with nothing having been done to it whatsoever. You get what is shown in the photos. No abrasive has been used to clean rust or damage off - thus possibly throwing off the factory balance (anything you do to these units is supposed to result in a re-balance, according to the original factory information). The plastic elastomer ring is also as-produced originally, with the same durometer feel to it. The balancer was stored in a sealed plastic freezer bag the entire time. Please note - all of my ebay sales are final. A little old lady caused me more aggravation because of this issue of customers changing their minds. What you see in the photos - you are guaranteed upon delivery - but now nothing more. The balancer is perfect, but when you purchase it - it becomes yours permanently. I don't sell junk, but I certainly do wish all you racers and fellow performance engine builders the best in both this season's activities, as well as in the future of motorsports. Thanks for your time, Rrrustyron |

Remembering Oldsmobile and its incredible Aurora
Wed, 30 Apr 2014On April 29, 2004, the last Oldsmobile rolled off the line and took the century-old badge with it. Since its founding in 1897, Oldsmobile has enjoyed a beloved and storied past in the tapestry of American industry. So many luminary products arose from its Lansing, Mich., home!
Renault Clio S launched
Thu, 14 Jan 2010The new Renault Clio S The last ‘Sporty’ Renault Clio we reported on was the Clio RenaultSport 200 back in April last year. The RenaultSport Clio offers proper hot-hatch performance but isn’t exactly cheap. Plus the real demographic for the little Renault wouldn’t have a prayer of either affording the Clio RenaultSport or managing to insure it.

Wed, 06 Oct 2010Hennessey Performance is introducing a convertible version of its limited-edition 2011 HPE700 Camaro. The tuning company will produce just 24 copies of the 2011 HPE700 Camaro, but it hasn't revealed how many will be hardtops or convertibles. “We have already sold several of our 2011 HPE700s in hardtop form, increasing the potential for the convertible LS9 Camaro to become an even rarer option than before,” said John Hennessey, president of Hennessey Performance.
