Unplug the charger if it hasn’t automatically shutoff in 14 hours: The charger is designed to turn off when the voltage of the battery pack reaches a certain level. I have found that some battery packs don’t always reach the required trigger voltage and the charger remains on in a trickle charge mode. If this happens, unplug the charger from the wall outlet, your cart should be fully charged. Most of the times after the charger has completed a few charge cycles the charger will begin to operate automatically. The charger operating in the manual mode will not harm your battery pack, you will just have to manually disconnect the charger after the required charge time of not more than 14 hours. Toyota Hydrogen Fuel Cell breakthrough to be announced at Frankfurt Motor Show
Mon, 02 Sep 2013Toyota Hydrogen Fuel Cell breakthrough to be announced at Frankfurt Motor Show Regardless of whether you think the electric car is potentially a planet saviour or not, the idea of powering cars with hydrogen is a powerful one; the holy grail of automotive powertrains. Technically, ICE cars can be built to run using hydrogen (and a retro-fit allowing that to be achieved economically would be a huge breakthrough) but car makers are heading down the road of electric cars being powered by a hydrogen fuel cell at the moment. In Toyota’s case, that means a setup similar to their hybrid cars, with a hydrogen fuel cell replacing the petrol engine.
NY Times reporter says he followed Tesla's advice
Fri, 15 Feb 2013A New York Times reporter says he was following the advice of Tesla employees when he drove an electric Model S sedan beyond its indicated range in an effort to reach a recharging station. Responding to a blog post by Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk highly critical of his original article, Times reporter John Broder on Thursday said he did not set out to sabotage the test drive -- refuting one of Musk's most-damning points. Broder also refutes Musk's claim that he drove the car around a parking lot in a deliberate attempt to fully discharge the battery -- Broder says he was looking for the recharge station in a poorly lighted rest stop at night.
Could the McLaren P13 get a Honda engine?
Wed, 22 May 2013The McLaren P13 is due to arrive in 2015 and we’re expecting it to get a de-tuned version of the 3.8 litre V8 already found in the 12C (pictured above) and P1, and be priced to take on the almost empty sector (in terms of price) the Porsche 911 Turbo occupies - somewhere around £125k. It’s a sensible plan to fill a potentially lucrative sector of the supercar market with a mid-engined, rear wheel drive ‘baby’ supercar with performance of around 3.8 seconds to 60mph and stunning handling. It should give the 911 Turbo a run for its money.
