Licensing Compliance
The MyGig Disk-Image or Replacement Hard Drive are each repair media to restore a licensed MyGig system to its original configuration.  It does not distribute unauthorized upgrades or distribute to unlicensed devices.

  •  The MyGig Operating System and MyGig Applications reside as "Firmware" on MyGig systems and are not distributed on hard drives or disk images offered on this site.
  •  Gracenote updates have been installed to restore Gracenote functions and provide authorized updates on a Gracenote licensed device.
  •  Map updates have not been installed on repair media as they must be acquired under a paid licensing arrangement between the MyGig system owner and NAVTEQ.

  1. What if this hard drive does not fix my MyGig system
    If this replacement drive does not restore the operation of all MyGig features, you should install the MyGig RER update V2.404 with the CD provided.  This is often needed to sync the firmware and the drive even if V2.404 was previously installed.

  2. Will the splash screen show my Vehicle logo ?
    Yes, your system queries your vehicle for "type" when it powers up.

  3. Can this hard drive be used in a cold climate ?
    This drive should not be used below 0 degrees Centrigrade. At some low temperature value it will fail to spin up and will fail.
    If you live in a cold climate you should use the Automotive Duty Drive.

Ferrari 612 Shooting Brake Spy shot Last week we ran a story about the replacement for Ferrari’s four-seat supercar, the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti. The basic premise was that Ferrari would be bringing the replacement for the 612 Scaglietti to the Geneva Motor Show in March, and that it would feature a new, 650bhp V12 engine, and 4×4 platform and be a Shooting Brake. All of which was a cobbling together from bits of information we’ve received when we started to dig around for information after Ferrari chairman Luca di Montezemolo recently said there will be a “very different Ferrari” at Geneva.

North American automakers are struggling with a nagging shortage of tires, caused in part by tire plant closings and rising demand for low-volume specialty tires. Automakers are paying much higher prices -- double-digit percentage increases from a year ago -- as tire makers gain pricing power. "We have been bombarded from every side for additional tires, and we can't keep up," said David O'Donnell, Continental Tire's vice president of original equipment in the Americas.
