Most drivers say no to toll roads

RADICAL Government proposals to privatise some roads in the UK and for companies to charge a toll have been rejected by drivers. Seventy-seven per cent of drivers say they would avoid toll roads and use another route to avoid paying to drive on a road. The government is considering handing over the running of some roads to private companies as part of the Infrastructure Bill as recommended in the Cook Report.

Winners of the 'Ultimate LA Machine' Design Challenge announced

 The judges of the Los Angeles Auto Show's Design Challenge have named the Dodge Superbee and Volkswagen Mobile Lounge as joint-winners of the first ever automobile design studio competition. Designer Reto Brun of Volkswagen/Audi Design Center California said his studio considered two Los Angeles issues when designing the Volkswagen Mobile Lounge - an antidote to traffic and a better option for the area's "limo-centric" entertainment culture. Braunschweig University Degree Show 2008

Students from art, communication, industrial and transportation design departments at Germany's Braunschweig University of Art have presented their work in the annual exhibition entitled 'Rundgang'. This year's Transportation Design degree show was divided into two parts. First was the diploma presentation by graduating students Chen Zhong, Falk Bruns, Malte Hammerbeck and Richard Hommel.
