Mercedes S63 AMG arrives – but the UK won’t get the most appealing option

Wed, 17 Jul 2013

The 2014 Mercedes S63 AMG (pictured) revealed We did think Mercedes would get more mileage out of their tease for the 2014 S 63 AMG, but this morning they’ve revealed the fastest version of the new S Class so far – the new Mercedes S 63 AMG. The S63 AMG is exactly what you’d expect the new S Class AMG would be. It comes with the usual array of AMG cosmetic tweaks including a big, butch front bumper, bigger sills, AMG alloys and ‘Biturbo’ badges on the wings to shout its intent.

Porsche Macan caught on video

Wed, 01 Aug 2012

The Porsche Macan – a Porsche Cayenne on a boil wash – has been spied out testing and caught on video. We’ve seen spy photos of the Porsche Macan before – Porsche’s take on the Audi Q5 – and they look more like a cut down Cayenne being used as a mule for the Macan’s underpinnings than an actual Macan. But it seems that the shots so far are actually the Macan as it’s heading for production, which means Porsche has, perhaps unsurprisingly, chosen the 911 school of car design as its inspiration for the Macan and just stuck a Cayenne on a boil wash.

2013 Audi RS6 Avant: 190mph & 0-62mph in 3.9 seconds

Wed, 05 Dec 2012

The 2013 Audi RS6 Avant has been revealed with a V8 552bhp Twin Scroll Turbo delivering 0-62mph in 3.9 seconds and up to 190mph. The 2013 Audi RS6 Avant comes with a 552bhp version of the twin-scroll V8 found in the latest, most powerful Audis (and the Bentley Continental GT V8) which, despite being 28bhp down on the power of the old V10 RS6 (although it does have 37lb/ft more torque – 516lb/ft) can get to 62mph in a supercar-bashing 3.9 seconds and, in standard guise, 155mph. But spend more than the £77k Audi will want for the new RS6 Avant by opting for the Dynamic Package and top speed increases to 174mph.
