Classic Toyota bus back in service

TOYOTA has restored one of its classic buses and is now using it again to transport staff around its factory in Japan. The 1969 Toyota Coaster looks better than new after a full rebuild by workers at the company’s HQ. They had to scour the shelves of warehouses to find unused original parts to help bring back the classic bus to full health.

We already know that Porsche is going to build its stunning 918 Spyder, but today the German sports car company has opened the order book, confirmed some technical highlights, and announced when and where the hybrid supercar will be built. Where do we begin? Okay, let’s have the Porsche 918 Spyder’s technical spec first please… The hard stats first: the 918 Spyder will sprint to 62mph in 3.2 seconds or less, and will top 199mph.

When we first heard about this show, we figured it would be all famous cars from famous movies: the real Bullitt Mustang, the real Herbie, the real pod racer from Star Wars. While there were some actual movie cars at the first show of the newly minted Television/Motion Picture Car Club--including the Charger from Fast & Furious and a real Dukes of Hazzard General Lee--the majority of the wheels were tribute cars made by fans who happened to work in the movie industry. The only Star Wars car was a converted Honda Civic Del Sol with a stuffed green Yoda riding shotgun.
