The anti-balloon plates will allow these converters to stand up to the instant horsepower nitrous delivers. Converters with higher than stock stall speed will allow the vehicle to accelerate better from a dead stop and it will allow the vehicle to idle better when a big cam is used. The Holeshot is a good choice for the typical street machine, however when nitrous is used the Nitrous Holeshot is your only real choice. Fully furnace brazed, Heavy Duty needle bearing thrust packages and new turbine hubs are the key features along with anti-balloon plates are found in the Nitrous Holeshot converters. These are serious converters for the serious street performance car. For Small and Big Blocks and includes an anti-balloon plate and is furnace brazed and fully balanced. For serious performance applications.

Hiromu Naruse: ‘Godfather’ of the LFA ‘Not Famous Enough’

Fri, 11 Feb 2011

Hiromu Naruse & Lexus LFA Last year we reported the death of Hiromu Naruse, Toyota’s chief test driver and a man considered to be the ‘Godfather’ of the Japanese performance car, and particularly the Lexus LFA, a car which consumed the last decade of his life and became the final testament to his enormous skill. At 67, Naruse-san was still as involved as ever, and it was whilst driving a Lexus LFA with the Nurburgring Package he met his end on a public road near the Nurburgring. A track, incidentally, he had driven more than any other Japanese driver.

Lotus's new 2010 Elise dips below 150g/km of CO2

Fri, 09 Apr 2010

By Tim Pollard First Official Pictures 09 April 2010 07:53 The new facelifted 2011 model year Lotus Elise has cut its CO2 output by nearly a fifth to a saintly 149g/km.It's a 16% improvement over the outgoing Lotus Elise S and Hethel claims 'the Elise has the lowest CO2 for its performance level for any gasoline sports car in the world.' Lotus is getting combative with the new Elise, pointing out that the Elise weighs just 876kg – while the Porsche Boxster sends the scales spinning to 1334kg.So how come the new Lotus Elise is so clean? The aerodynamics are 4% smoother, according to Lotus, while a smaller Toyota 1.6-litre VVT-i engine is downsized by 200cc compared with the outgoing 1.8, yet produces the same power. The new 2011 model year (but on sale now in 2010) shows the benefits of lightweight: it'll hit 60mph in 6.0sec.
