Mercedes’ nomenclature has got confusing in recent years so it’s quite hard to pin down exactly what they’re likely to call a new car we know is coming but which isn’t yet official. But it does now seem clear that the compact SUV we’ll see from Mercedes in 2013 – and based on the same platform as the new A and B Class – will be the Mercedes GLA.

The fifth instalment of the Gran Turismo PlayStation epic has slipped back from 5 November, probably to the first week of December 2010. But this month’s CAR Magazine – on sale now – reveals the new game’s hero car, the ultimate track racer designed by Red Bull and GT coders Polyphony. Drivers 'concerned at lack of goodwill'

MOTORISTS have been left concerned at the lack of goodwill among other drivers during this festive period, according to research from Halfords Autocentres. The levels of ‘aggressive, impatient and inconsiderate’ driving increase at this time of year, according to the survey of an unspecified number of car owners. Nearly a quarter (23%) of respondents said that things like lane hogging, failing to indicate properly - or at all - and not letting other motorists out at junctions was a real problem at this time of year.
