Kia at the Paris motor show 2008

By James Foxall Motor Shows 02 October 2008 16:41 Kia is desperate to prove to the world that it has Soul. And it did so in the most obvious way in Paris with – you guessed it – some soul singers. Seven versions of the new urban crossover Soul were then revealed in production guise and a hybrid version made its debut too.

Fiat Strada

The forth-generation Fiat Strada pickup is a product of company's booming Brazilian operations and is set to go on sale in Europe this month for the first time. It follows on from the Ford EcoSport, another South American product heading to the global market. The Strada is offered with three body styles: a standard two-seat cab configuration; a long cab with stowage behind the seats; and a full four-seat crew cab variant.

Fisker has potential buyers in line

VL Automotive and Chinese Investment Group Wanxiang are looking to buy troubled automotive manufacturer Fisker. Maker of the curvaceous Karma, Fisker has been cash-strapped for some time now due to what company insiders called an overly optimistic business plan that anticipated rapid sales growth. Tesla's success in the luxury/upscale electric vehicle industry hasn't helped Fisker's cause either.
