INSTALLATION GUIDELINES FOR COMPRESSORS
  1. Parts are to be installed by a certified automotive technician.
  2. YOU MUST ADD OIL!  Drain any oil shipped in compressor (used for lubrication during shipment only) and add the proper amount of PAG oil. Put the oil in through the bolt on the body of compressor (where applicable). After the oil is added, use your hand or spanner wrench and turn the clutch hub 10 to 15 times before you install the compressor as this will lubricate the compressor before turning on the system, and prevent liquid slugging.
  3. Transfer any switches and brackets from the old compressor to the new one where applicable.
  4. Replace the accumulator/drier, orifice tube/expansion device, any hoses with muffler assemblies, inline filters, and parallel flow condensers (where applicable).
  5. The entire A/C system must be flushed completely with an approved flush. Do not use refrigerant to flush the system. Do not use an oil based flush as it will also contaminate the system.
  6. Evacuate the system for air and moisture that may get into the system while in tear down mode, using a vacuum pump, pumping the system down to at least 29 inches for at least 45 minutes. If above 80 degrees and a dual system 60 minutes.
  7. Recharge the system with the recommended refrigerant.
REMEMBER
Flushing is the best way to get rid of any old oil and contaminants that will damage the new replacement parts. When parts fail, debris and metal shavings are the worst enemy to an a/c system and causes premature wear and/or failures.
Failure to flush the system will void your warranty

Ford at CES: Charge your car with science and wash your dishes while you sleep

    Thu, 09 Jan 2014

Ford's C-Max Solar Energy Concept is a "plugless plugin," said Donna Bell, which initially sounds silly -- as if the carefully structured chaos and noise of CES may have finally gotten to her. But as someone who has been managing Ford's electric vehicle infrastructure for the past 20 years, she isn't being facetious. Solar panels on the roof of a car aren't anything new -- the Fisker Karma used them to power the radio and other in-car accessories, to cite a soon-obscure example.

Ruf Stormster concept (2009): the electric Porsche Cayenne

    Thu, 10 Dec 2009

Ruf might be a tiny German tuner, but it’s just unveiled the first ever electric Cayenne. Called the Stormster it's Ruf's second battery-powered Porsche, uses the same motor as the company's electric 911, weighs close to 2.7 tonnes and hits 62mph in ten seconds. No at all – in fact, earlier this week Ruf took its 676bhp GT2 to 229mph at the Nardo test track in southern Italy.

GM returns to the Super Bowl, new ads upcoming for the Camaro and Cadillac

    Sun, 08 Aug 2010

If there's one thing Joel Ewanick has made clear since joining General Motors Co. three months ago, it's that he doesn't let grass grow under his feet. And the company's vice president of marketing isn't slowing down anytime soon: In a wide-ranging interview with Advertising Age, an affiliate of AutoWeek, Ewanick let drop that the automaker will return to the Super Bowl in 2011; that an ad campaign will break next month for the Chevy Camaro; and that there's a new tagline coming for Cadillac, "The new standard for the world." "We have so many projects in the works right now," he said.
