Aluminum sliders cap both the toe and outer shin and to go along with this, molded TPU armor reinforces the heel, toe and shin. The leather construction is perforated from top to bottom and while it looks like the fit isn't adjustable, an easy to use inner lacing system tailors the tension around the ankle.

If the images are to be trusted, the Kodo design language—readily apparent on the upcoming 2014 Mazda 6 sedan and wagon—will make the jump to the smaller, less expensive Mazda 3 as well. Gone is the controversial “smile” grille worn by the 2012 Mazda 3.
