Audi has dropped the details of the 2012 A6 Avant wagon, and the numbers are enticing. Unfortunately, it won't be coming here for the foreseeable future, Audi of America says. Lightness is one of the keys for the new model.

It may look much like you’d expect it to, but in a radical move, Audi is turning its back on turbocharging – the S4 is powered by a new supercharged 3.0-litre V6 that pumps out 329bhp and a hefty 325lb ft of torque for a 5.1 second sprint to 60mph and a 155mph top speed. We’re a little perplexed ourselves, to be honest.

Fuel prices 'rising again'

THE AUTUMN dip in petrol prices failed to stimulate sales and the cost of filling up is rising again, according to the AA. Drivers in small market and coastal towns are particularly suffering from high prices, with the dearest petrol found in East Anglia and Wales, the AA said. It added that between mid November and mid December, the average UK price of petrol rose from 130.44p a litre to 131.17p, while diesel increased from 137.78p to 138.61p.
