A REAL automotive rarity has occurred with the announcement that a new low-volume British sports car brand will reveal an initial concept car in April. David Brown Automotive will be set up along the same lines as Morgan, with the aim of recapturing the past glory of British sports cars but using modern materials, reliable mechanicals and up-to-date luxuries. Such ventures have been tried before, with very mixed results, but owner and financial backer David Brown is confident that the first model, codenamed ‘Project Judi’, will succeed.

Vauxhall to launch sub-£7k city car

Vauxhall is believed to be working on a budget city car to rival the Toyota Aygo, Peugeot 108 and Citroen C1 trio unveiled earlier this month at Geneva. According to Auto Express, the new small hatchback will be based on the Chevrolet Spark platform and will start at less than £7,000 – undercutting the firm’s current Adam model by over £4,000. 'Adam Seeks Eve' sketching competition winner announced

The top three designs of the ‘Adam Seeks Eve‘ international sketching competition have been announced. A judging panel of six professional designers and organizer representatives – chaired by exterior chief designer of the Opel Adam Niels Loeb – selected the top three designs from over 400 submitted projects. 23-year-old Marcell Sebestyén from Hungary claimed top honors with his design, while second place went to 36-year-old Lukáš Taneček from the Czech Republic.
