Volvo's autonomous car is boring enough to work

The Chinese-owned Swedish automaker releases a stunning concept from time to time, and we're often pleasantly surprised by the Volvos that enter out test fleet, but it hasn't done much to generate sales numbers -- or buzz -- in the North American market. Which it now has. And actually, the new 308 does seem to promise real competition for the stalwarts in its sector – the Ford Focus and VW Golf – with a wide range of engine options, decent looks and prices that start at just £14,495.
