A DETROIT MAN has his car back - 33 years after someone stole it from a street in the US city. George Talley, 71, was reunited with his 1979 Chevrolet Corvette at the world headquarters of General Motors in Detroit. He last saw his car in 1981 after parking it.

Half of all used cars go wrong ‘within a month’

With over seven million secondhand cars purchased in 2012, you’d expect one or two to develop a problem soon after purchase. But rather shockingly, as many as half of all used cars sold develop faults within a month of changing hands. That’s according to a report by the Citizens Advice Bureau, which helped with over 84,000 problems with secondhand motors in the past 12 months.

Saab reportedly bought by Chinese-led consortium

A Chinese-controlled consortium has completed a deal to buy the assets of bankrupt Swedish carmaker Saab, media reports said. National Electric Vehicle Sweden (NEVS) will pay 1.5 billion to 1.8 billion kronor ($210 million to $250 million) for Saab, excluding spare parts company Saab Automobile Parts AB, according to reports in Sweden. NEVS did not confirm the reports.
