BMW M3 DTM Concept Car (2011) first official pictures
Mon, 18 Jul 2011Andy Priaulx's guide to 2012's BMW M3 DTM racer This is BMW’s M3 DTM Concept Car, a taster of the near-500bhp racer that will compete in the 2012 DTM (German Touring Car) series. Unveiled at BMW Welt in Munich, it signals BMW's return to the DTM after a two-decade absence; between 1987 and 1992, the BMW M3 won 40 races and had over 150 podium finishes in Germany's premier tin-top series. Does this new BMW M3 DTM car bear any resemblance to a road-going M3?
BMW i8 to cost from £99,895
Fri, 15 Nov 2013BMW has revealed its new i8 petrol-electric range-extender supercar will cost from £99,895 – and dealers are already taking pre-orders for the 155mph, 113mpg coupe. The high-performance i8 will be the second BMW i car to go on sale, following the launch of the i3 electric city car which goes on sale in BMW dealers this weekend. BMW i8 stars at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show BMW i8 review (2013 prototype) The near-£100,000 price tag for the 362hp car means it costs nearly £6,000 more than the 560hp BMW M6 Coupe – although as it is a 2+2, comparisons can also be drawn with the BMW M6 Gran Coupe: the i8 costs just over £2,000 more.
Continental developing experimental semiautonomous vehicle
Mon, 26 Mar 2012A vehicle that drives itself has been a fantasy for many drivers since they encountered their first traffic jam. While a fully autonomous car is not quite here, Continental—yes, the same company that makes tires—has an experimental semiautonomous vehicle that will eclipse the magical 10,000-miles-on-road mark this month. Its unassuming Volkswagen Passat is fitted with a plethora of safety and technology systems that the company has been developing and tweaking over the course of the project.
