At last year’s Worthersee Tour Volkswagen brought along a pair of Golf Cabriolets – the VW Golf GTI Cabriolet and the VW Golf R Cabriolet – signalling some proper performance from a drop-top Golf. At the time we commented that the Golf R Cabriolet would definitely be made, but by the time Volkswagen revealed the production version of the Golf GTI Cabriolet at Geneva in March we were moved to ask “What about the Golf R Cabriolet?”.

Tesla Motors, Inc. posted a net loss of $38 million on $431 million in revenue during the third quarter -- a steeper loss on slightly higher revenue than in the second quarter.
