Goodwood Revival 2008 hosts £85m historic grid
Mon, 15 Sep 2008By Ben Whitworth Motor Shows 15 September 2008 12:14 This weekend’s Goodwood Revival 2008 is set to be the most expensive yet – the grid for the Royal Automobile Club TT Celebration race has been independently valued by Bonhams automotive auction house at an eye-watering £85 million. The valuation for the one-hour, two-driver race closed-cockpit GT cars – which originally took place at Goodwood between 1960 and 1964 – makes it the most expensive grid of historic racing cars ever to appear together in one race. Goodwood Revival 2008: the drivers' list Derek Bell, Martin Brundle, Patrick Tambay, Jean-Marc Gounon, Christian Horner, Richard Attwood and Jackie Oliver will take to the fast and tight circuit in some of the finest and most valuable GT racers ever produced.The list of entrants reads like a Who's Who of schoolboy fantasy garages, including the Ferrari 250 GT SWB, GTO and 330 LMB, AC Cobra and two original Shelby American Cobra Daytonas, an Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato and Project 214, plus the Lightweight Jaguar E-types.

We think Gordon – creator of the McLaren F1 – is on exactly the right track for City Cars – either the T.25 or it’s electric sibling the T.27 – looking to create cheap to manufacture, small, light and very strong cars powered by either a small, 3-pot engine or by an electric motor. Sat, 12 Jul 2014The Hyundai Genesis driver makes his escape The new Hyundai Genesis is a proper poke by the Koreans at the big, luxury end of the car market, and as such it comes equipped with plenty of luxury features and high-end technology. So with a new Genesis to promote, Hyundai thought it would be a bit of a wheeze to demonstrate just how good many of the driver assist technologies are on the new Genesis, to the point where it is capable (with a bit of fiddling) of being autonomous and safe. Hyundai lined up a convoy of six stunt drivers in the new Genesis saloon at their test track in the Mojave Desert, engaged adaptive cruise, lane hold and automatic emergency braking and set it off round the test track.
