Part 2 of our review of the 2010 Range Rover Sport TDV6 Land Rover has had a thorough play with their range for 2010, a big part of which has been shoehorning in the latest lumps from Jaguar. The Range Rover Sport now comes with the 5.0 litre S/C engine from the XFR and the rather wheezy 2.7 litre diesel is swapped for the much livelier 3.0 litre from the XF. Not the 3.0 litre from the XF diesel S, mind you – that would have trampled all over the 3.6 TDV8 – but the slightly more pedestrian version with 242bhp.

Press days for the 2014 Detroit auto show wrapped up on Tuesday, and the sum total was more big reveals than we can shake a stick shift at. Production cars included the Ford F-150, Corvette Z06, BMW M3 and M4, Subaru WRX STI and the Porsche 911 Targa, while on the concept front we saw the Toyota FT-1, Nissan Sport Sedan and Kia GT4 Stinger just to name a few. Mercedes-Benz U.S. chief has been “excused” from his duties effective immediately, according to a Daimler spokesman. Ernst Lieb, 56, had held the position since 2006.
