DESCRIPTION

Selling this beautiful limited edition "Bumble Bee" Porsche Emblem, it is carefully handmade and each piece is bead blasted and finished in Yellow and Black enamel. It is further coated with a layer of self automotive primer.
The primer coat is carefully followed by three coats of automotive grade enamel. Each coat is baked on after application to guarantee longevity of the final finish.

What a beautiful hood emblem, when you look at the factory original Gold/Yellow emblem you kind of get tired of it, well at least I can say that I could pass up on any gold/yellow emblem on a Porsche. This hood emblem is themed "Bumble Bee" and it is our most popular model, it looks awesome and really give your Porsche a custom look.
The perfect accent for your Porsche. A great match to the designation on your car.

The pictures of the used emblem and the refinishing steps are not pictures of the actual badge you will receive.

INSTALLATION

The "Bumble Bee" Porsche emblem installs just like the original. It is attached (held) by two self tapping speed nuts located underneath the hood where the emblem is located.

You will have to re-use your speed nuts and your factory gasket , but please follow this advice before removal.

Have a magnetic tool or magnetic stick handy, Porsche uses some kind of silicone on the speed nuts so when they are completely loose they don't fall off with your 8mm socket they hang there, the problem is that there's only 2 small holes behind the hood emblem to remove the speed nuts , if the speed nuts should fall off your ratchet socket you will lose the speed nuts in between the layers of the hood making it impossible to install your emblem, by having a magnet tool while removing the speed nuts insert the magnetic tool so that you will not lose the nuts during removal.

Once the speed nuts are removed remove the hood emblem and now is a good time to clean the dirt deposit behind the emblem on the hood.

IMPORTANT You will have to partially cut-off the edge of the gasket, test fit the gasket and that will give you an idea of what you need to cut, use a sharp utility knife to get the job done, please see the last picture.

Now just install your emblem and gasket by securing it with the speed nuts you previously removed.

The last pictures shows all other models available please check our other auctions to find the different hood emblems we sell.

FOR THE BOXSTER/ CAYMAN 981, CARRERA 991, CAYENNE 958, PANAMERA 970 AND MACAN and more

Remove the plug that covers the access holes for the hood emblem, remove both 8mm speed nuts, remember to use a magnet while removing the speed nut one at a time. While using one access hole to remove one speed nut insert the magnetic tool by the other access hole to catch the speed nut and avoid the speed nut from falling inside the hood metal sheet.

Remove the back gasket, simply install the new gasket on your new emblem and install speed nuts. If the speed nuts are too loose you can bend the middle opening tabs on the speed nuts for a tighter fit. We also recommend you to apply some silicone over the speed nuts once installed, this is not necessary but recommended.

However pls check the size before buying

Size:

2.75" from point to top or ~69mm
Width is just a HAIR over 2" across the top from point to point or ~51mm. across the middle- right through the horse, it is ~2 15/16" OR 49.5mm

Tue, 12 Jun 2012

Mercedes has announced that the third generation 2012 smart fortwo electric drive has gone in to production. Mercedes may, very sensibly, be pursuing hydrogen fuel cells as the real future of motoring but they still have an eye on electric cars as urban runarounds. That urban EV takes shape as the Smart EV, and the third generation smart fortwo ED (electric drive) debuted at the Geneva Motor Show in March and has now gone in to production.
