Roads warning as massive transformer is moved

ONE OF THE BIGGEST abnormal loads ever transported on the roads will be trundling across the west of England this weekend - at an average speed of 4mph. The giant transformer, measuring almost 330ft long and weighing around 640 tonnes, will travel the 80 miles between Didcot in Oxfordshire and Avonmouth in Bristol. Police warn the trip will affect roads in Wiltshire, Bath and north-east Somerset and south Gloucestershire between 7pm on Friday and 6pm on Sunday.

Last month we reported that the 2012 Lexus RX 450h is on its way – together with an F Sport version – after scans from a JDM Lexus brochure leaked out. After last week's leak, here is the official announcement of the Renault Alpine A110-50. These new photos reveal a mid-engined sports car shadowing the Renault Dezir, but with an Alpine twist. As hinted at by that name, the A110-50 doffs its cap to the golden anniversary of the original Alpine A110 - as does that Alpine Blue paint job.
