One last hurrah: the 1994 MG RV8
Fri, 23 May 2014It's tough to imagine the British car scene in North America without the MGB, which remains a popular starter classic and is available in every price range imaginable--and some price ranges that aren't. The iconic MGB was in production from 1962 until 1980, an entire era that saw relatively few changes introduced to the well-proven design. The marque itself was overseen by three corporate parents during those 18 years on the line: BMC, British Motor Holdings and, finally, British Leyland.
Jaguar XF SportBrake: Jaguar start to tease the XF Estate on Twitter
Thu, 24 Nov 2011Jaguar XF SportBrake Spy - but it's an 'official' leak We’ve been talking about a Jaguar XF Estate – a big hole in the XF range – for a very long time. But finally we got confirmation from Jaguar that the XF Estate is actually going to happen and Jaguar’s designer, Ian Callum saying the Estate would arrive as the Jaguar XF Sportbrake. But we still had no idea exactly when Jaguar would get round to actually launching the XF Sportbrake.
The Mini is 50 years old today
Fri, 08 May 2009Today - 08/05/2009 - is the 50th anniversary of the first Mini rolling off the production line. To celebrate, and for a bit of free publicity (see, we’re playing the game) BMW has shipped the first Mini to roll of the production line back to Cowley to celebrate (picture at the bottom). 621 AOK, a Mini Minor, in Old English White, looks as fresh as the day it rolled off the production line half a century ago (although I wouldn’t mind betting it doesn’t have it’s original sills – they always rusted through – or copes with its original distributor and leads – one splash of rain and the car ground to a halt!).
