This is a set of 8 red leather Ski straps
For the accessory Leitz or Reutter luggage rack

An accessory fitted to many PORSCHE 356 cars
  • 8 straps, used for 2 sets of skis and two sets of poles or 4 sets of skis
  • Hand made in the USA
  • Copied from an original set (please see photos 4,5 & 6 for comparison)
  • Upgraded with better leather (see photo 7 for comparison)
Please note the telltale silver/gray leather on the edges. Same as the original straps. This is a specially tanned leather hide using a process that stabilizes the leather by cross linking the collagen fibers and tightly binds to the protein in the hide. This process strengthens the leather so the straps can securely hold skis. Regular leather will crack and break.
  • Upgraded with a much nicer quality nickel plated buckle (see photo 4)
Same style as the original which was a  flimsy and poorly made zinc plated buckle (see photo 5&6 for comparison)

Has Chris Evans bought a McLaren F1?

Tue, 18 Sep 2012

The rumour on the grapevine this morning is that Radio 2 man and Ferrari nut, Chris Evans, has traded a Ferrari to buy a McLaren F1 Chris Evans is known for many things; Radio 2 presenter, doting dad, one-time enfant terrible of TV, creator of CarFest and, perhaps most of all, the most high-profile collector of classic Ferraris in the UK. But the word on the grapevine this morning is that Chris has chopped in a Ferrari – and we don’t know which of his Ferraris – to buy one of the 64 McLaren F1 supercars in existence. If he has, and we’re digging for confirmation, then he’s obviously been listening to the advice a number of experts at the top end of the classic car world who believe the ‘next’ Ferrari 250 GTO (a car Chris owns) will be the McLaren F1.

Fri, 29 Apr 2011

We promise this will be the only mention of the royal wedding you'll see on autoweek.com, but we just can't resist a beautiful car. Prince William and Catherine Middleton, newly the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, drove away from their humble nuptials in an Aston Martin DB6 Volante with the top down, license plate reading "JU5T WED." Ignore the royals. Check out this car.
