Russia gets its first Lamborghini dealership

While luxury supercars have been a status symbol of the new upper class in Russia, owners often have resorted to buying secondhand or going out of the motherland for their latest top-dollar vehicle acquisitions. Automobili Lamborghini is betting on the continued strength of the Russian market by opening its first dealership in that county in conjunction with the Burevestnik Group, a luxury-automobile and yacht company, in Moscow. “We are very proud of representing Lamborghini in Moscow,” said Andrey Lomakin, co-owner of the Burevestnik Group.

Vauxhall Astra GTC finally arrives at Frankfurt The Vauxhall Astra GTC (and its European equivalent Opel GTC) finally gets to go on public view at Frankfurt this week, a year after it arrived as a concept at Paris. Based on the more prosaic five-door Astra, the GTC carries over just about nothing except the door handles although it still conspires to look like a slightly squashed, butch version of its sibling. Ok, so it's only a virtual car for the computer game with which it shares its name, but the BMW Vision Gran Turismo is the result of a project undertaken by the BMW design and engineering departments in Munich. Loosely based around the 2 Series, the car is a neat amalgamation of current BMW design themes and the flamboyance of 1970s touring cars. You don't have to look too hard to see the influence of the CSL Batmobile and fire-spitting E21 320i Turbos.
