Porsche reveals Panamera Turbo S
Fri, 01 Nov 2013PORSCHE has taken the wraps off its new Panamera Turbo S, built for those who think the regular Turbo is neither fast nor exclusive enough. Prices will start at more than £131,000 for the car, which uses a twin-turbocharged 562bhp V8 petrol engine and four-wheel drive to catapult its two-tonne bulk to 62mph in just 3.8 seconds, on the way to a top speed of 192mph. Fuel economy is recorded as 27.7mpg on the European standard ‘combined cycle’ average, but drivers in the real world should expect around 20.
Fiat 500L launches
Wed, 04 Jul 2012The Fiat 500L – a larger Fiat 500 based on the Punto – has launched in Italy ahead of going on sale in the UK in early 2013. The 500L is actually based on the underpinnings of the Punto to create a 500 MPV and, sensibly, Fiat has done with the 500L what MINI did with the Countryman and slapped an iconic badge on even though the 500L bears scant resemblance to its cute little sibling.
Asda sparks new fuel price cuts
Tue, 29 Oct 2013SUPERMARKET Asda has sparked a likely petrol price war by announcing further cuts. Asda said that drivers filling up at its forecourts from tomorrow (Wednesday) will pay no more than 126.7p a litre for petrol, with diesel priced at 133.7p. Jeremy Walton, head of petrol trading at Asda, said: "Our shoppers don't have to figure out complicated deals and collect vouchers to get the best price; they simply pay what they see at the pump.
