The Technical Stuff

Kevlar® is a soft knitted non-abrasive material and is comfortable against the skin. The fabric is unique in construction and offers breathability and flexibility. The material itself is designed to dissipate heat quickly and distribute air evenly through the fibers.

Kevlar® is a manmade fiber, which offers incredible protection against abrasion, cuts and heat. Five times stronger than steel pound for pound, flame resistant up to 400 degrees Celsius and exceptionally cut and slash resistant

Kevlar® in various forms is used in ropes that tie up ships, clothing worn by saw-millers, fire-fighters, glass handlers and air force pilots, tank armor, aero plane wings and lightweight canoes.

Probably the best known is the production of bullet proof vests! Although constructed in a different way (lets face it who wants to wear a bullet proof vest on their arse!)

The knitted Kevlar fabric cannot be easily ripped, torn or damaged in any way apart from manually cutting with scissors and the like.

LEATHER STUFF have in stock sizes 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20.

Tue, 04 Feb 2014

THE REGENT Street Motor Show is set to return to the streets of the capital this November, after organisers confirmed a date for the ultra-successful event. After the huge success of last year’s Show, once again the world-famous West End shopping street will be closed to traffic for what is now firmly established as the UK’s largest free-to-view motor show. In 2013, the traffic-free zone was extended to stretch from Piccadilly Circus right up to Oxford Circus for the very first time.

BMW bobsled carries Team USA to Winter Olympics victory

Wed, 19 Feb 2014

At the Sochi Winter Olympics, Team USA took home its first medal in two-man bobsledding since 1952. Steven Holcomb, a former Alpine skier and National Guard soldier, and partner Steven Langton raced to a third-place finish in the event -- despite Holcomb's sprained left calf that doctors had to treat long into the night before the race. The margin of victory for the bronze medal was just 0.03 second.

First new Saab rolls off the production line

Tue, 03 Dec 2013

A NEW SAAB car has rolled off the Swedish production line for the first time in two and a half years. National Electric Vehicle Sweden, the Hong Kong-based company that bought Saab out of bankruptcy in September last year, presented its new 9-3 Aero at the factory in Trollhattan. The company, also called NEVS, aims to make electric cars under the Saab brand, but said it will also provide petrol cars until "electric cars fully meet customer demands." The first 200 cars will be delivered in spring costing 279,000 kronor (£26,000) each.
