Also included is some loose piston rings. Piston pins and rings have some light surface rust from sitting, see pics for condition. The Ford Motor Co. Fund is investing an additional $1 million into its no-charge driving-skills program for teenagers, the automaker said on Tuesday. More than 3,000 Americans between the ages of 15 and 19 are killed in crashes each year, according to government statistics.

NHTSA opens investigation into Ford Taurus throttle issue

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has launched a preliminary investigation into claims of the throttle sticking open on the Ford Taurus from the 2005-06 model years. NHSTA says there are 14 claims of a stuck throttle in the Taurus, possibly because of the cruise-control cable becoming detached. No injuries have been reported.

No prizes for guessing this car’s remit: it’s the beautiful Vantage bodyshell (now four years old!) stuffed with six litres and 12 cylinders of Aston muscle.
