Detroit represented the big, bad gas-guzzling old school, but the forward-thinking culture of southern California meant the relaxed atmosphere of the LA Convention Centre was the perfect setting to preview the smaller, more compact and more fuel-efficient future. Tue, 16 Jun 2009By Ben Pulman Motor Industry 16 June 2009 11:00 American car giant General Motors has signed a memorandum of understanding for the purchase of Saab by an investment group led by Swedish supercar manufacturer Koenigsegg. That's the deal. Supercar maker Koenigsegg Automotive, together with a consortium of private investors, has formed Koenigsegg Group, which has reached a ‘tentative agreement’ to buy Saab from GM.

Wed, 03 Nov 2010Morgan surprised us all today by going back in time and unveiling the new-for-2011 roadster Threewheeler. Morgan started out making three-wheelers and from next year it will do so again; between 1909 and 1953 Morgan manufactured around 30,000 three-wheelers. One even won the French Grand Prix in 1913 and Stirling Moss owned one. The new Morgan will be fitted with the latest 'Screaming Eagle' 1800cc twin engine from a Harley Davidson married to a five-speed manual transmission from Mazda.
