Volvo are taking the electric C30 to the Detroit Motor Show. Volvo had a little tease about the electric version of the C30 EV (or Battery Electric Vehicle) back in September. They rolled out a bit of a ‘Wish-List’ of what they’d like it to be able to do, but there was no real car and not a huge chance it was going anywhere much.

The most recent advance in vehicle safety has to be the autonomous emergency braking system (AEB) – a sophisticated suite of sensors and electronics that monitors objects in front of your car, automatically applying the brakes for you if it senses you’re heading to hit something. Up until now these auto-brake features have not been rated, but ahead of a new 2014 test that will include AEB systems in its overall safety star scoring, Euro NCAP has put the some of the vehicles already equipped with this technology through their paces. Four examples of the revised version of Renault's Twingo have been given an artistic overhaul. Four artists created four very different visions, which went on display under the title ‘Cabinet of Curiosities' from December to January at L'Atelier Renault on the Avenue des Champs-Élysées, Paris. Four artistic disciplines – fashion, food, music and design – were represented by French fashion designer Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, Italian chef Davide Scabin, former Girls Aloud member Nicola Roberts and German designer Nils Holger Moormann, respectively.
