Maserati appear to be teasing the arrival of the smaller Quattroporte – the Maserati Ghibli – at the Shanghai Motor Show later this month. Maserati is on a bit of a new model rush at the moment, and it looks like the tease photo they’ve released today is for the new Maserati Ghibli. BRITAIN'S most senior police officer broke off from a radio interview to make an arrest in north London. Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe jumped into a police car to pursue a suspect after the driver complained his passengers refused to pay the fare and had stolen cash from him, the BBC reported. Sir Bernard, who was taking part in a pre-recorded interview with BBC London 94.9 Drivetime presenter Eddie Nestor near Bruce Grove station in Tottenham, north London on the issue of budget cuts, jumped into the car in pursuit and later arrested a suspect.

Vauxhall has become an official World Speed Record holder after the FIA and MSA confirmed an average speed of more than 125mph in its 3,000-mile 24-hour speed trial event. The news also means that MSN Cars contributor Richard Aucock has become a World Speed Record holder – he was one of the drivers in the team of 12 that piloted the two cars around Bedfordshire’s Millbrook Proving Ground late last autumn.
