Made up of mostly WWI ex-military flyers, it captivated crowds with daredevil flight performances, wing walking and parachuting demonstrations. My Grandfather began his aviation career barnstorming in a $250 war surplus Jenny and then later flying for the Gates Flying Circus. Orville Wright signed his license, license number 1000. My father came along at a time my grandfather was buying surplus PT19s and Stearmans for a few hundred dollars. My father continued the passion for flying and owned dozens of aircraft over the years. My brother flew for Cole Palen's Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome. In his last few days, my father's eyes twinkled when I brought some flying magazines to his bed side. In honor of my dad, I'm continuing our aviation heritage. 2013 Land Rover Freelander 2 facelift coming
Tue, 03 Jul 2012Land Rover are working on a mild facelift for the Freelander 2 for 2013 as it comes towards the end of its shelf life. It’s almost two years since Land Rover last facelifted the Freelander 2, a car that’s been with us since 2006, when they threw in some minor cosmetic tweaks, the first FWD Land Rover and gave us a more powerful diesel option. Somewhere prior to that Land Rover had quietly dropped the V6 petrol engine (in the UK, at least), so adding a more powerful version of the 2.2 litre diesel made sense as did providing a lower price entry point in the FWD Freelander.

VW Passat CC R-Line Launches
Wed, 16 Dec 2009The new VW Passat CC R-Line So far VW has managed to add an R-Line model to the Golf, Scirocco, Touran, Tiguan, Passat Variant and Touareg and of course to the regular Passat offerings with the Passat R-Line being introduced on the saloon and Estate back in May. And now we get the VW Passat CC R-Line. Sadly – as with all recent R-Line offerings – we’re not getting power improvements but just a cosmetic job.
