Former Chrysler chief LaSorda joins Fisker

Former Chrysler CEO Tom LaSorda will join Fisker Automotive as vice chairman, in the plug-in hybrid maker's second signing of an ex-Detroit 3 executive this week. CEO Henrik Fisker said LaSorda's position will include a day-to-day executive advisory role, as the fledgling automaker ramps up production of the Karma sedan at its Wilmington, Del., factory over the coming year. LaSorda will be chairman of the company's strategy council.

But that may be where the similarities end when it comes to the words spoken by the former CEO and his newly elevated successor. In his first news conference as the head of GM, Henderson made it abundantly clear that he understands the forces that put him where he is and what they expect from him.

Porsche 911 Sport Classic introduced

Porsche has announced a Limited Edition Porsche 911 that will launch at Frankfurt - The Porsche 911 Sport Classic Porsche has plundered its history to build in to the 911 Sport Classic styling cues from the past. The Sport Classic gets a ‘Duck-Tail’ rear spoiler (thank you, 1973 Carrera RS 2.7) and ‘Fuchs-Style’ alloys (ditto – at least in terms of chronology).  You can also throw in to the mix a double-bubble roof (Carrera GT et al) and black surrounds to the headlights, which is evocative of the 1970s Porsche racers. So having thrown every design cue that fits from its history, what else does the 911 SC get?
