Apple Many of today’s cars feature a touchscreen infotainment system of some sort, with a number of them looking remarkably like a high-end tablet device. So it was only a matter of time before the two technologies converged. This vision appears to be a little closer to reality now, with images and a video leaked on Twitter appearing to be show a highly advanced version of Apple’s much-rumoured iOS in the Car feature.

But its appearance seems resolutely stuck in time, like John and Jackie Kennedy in Zapruder’s film of the Dallas motorcade, or like the fans who berated Bob Dylan for going electric.   There are no design surprises: the bodysides are curvy and more crisply pressed, the rear lamps supersized, otherwise the floating roof, wraparound chrome piping and wheel-at-each corner stance are all present and correct. ‘We need to be careful,’ BMW Group design director Adrian van Hooydonk told CAR.

WOULD you pass your driving test second time around? Insurance company Direct Line wanted to answer that age-old question, and gathered 50 experienced drivers and put them through the standard driving test to find out. The result was that more than three quarters of them failed, with those that did recording an average of three serious or dangerous faults, with one participant committing 10 major faults.
