Geely to buy bankrupt London Taxis
Mon, 31 Dec 2012The Chinese press are reporting that Geely are to buy London Taxi maker Manganese Bronze, which went in to liquidation in October. Back in October we reported that Manganese Bronze – makers of the iconic London Taxi – had gone in to administration, finally tipped over the edge by steering box failures in the TX4. Jaguar XJ 3.0 TDV6 Long Term Test (2010): The Intro
Sun, 31 Oct 2010Our long-term XJ joins last week's review car - the XF S We moaned about the tease that was the introduction to the new Jaguar XJ, but we dutifully went off to the press launch at the Saatchi Gallery in July 2009 and declared the design a triumph. We looked forward to the promised press cars by Christmas 2009, but they never happened as Jaguar worked to make the new XJ as bullet-proof as a car can be. But by the end of May 2010 the first press cars started to arrive and the first customer cars escaped in to the wild.
Jaguar XFR-S: Official
Wed, 28 Nov 2012The barn-storming Jaguar XFR-S – Jaguar’s most powerful saloon car ever – has bowed in at LA. Full details and lots more photos of the new XFR-S. Following on from the XKR-S – and arriving in the same French Blue – the Jaguar XFR-S gets a 40 horse jump over the XFR – and an extra 41lb/ft of torque too – to offer a potentially BMW M5 competing 550HP and 502lb/ft of torque, enough to hit 62mph in 4.6 seconds and on to 186mph (not quite up with the M5, but getting there).
