new repo assembly line white/natural idle mixture caps,fits most all ford autolite/motorcraft 1V,2V,4V carbs and my personal favorite 429 cj rochester Q-jet.The autolite/motorcraft was from around 67-mid 70's ( but I believe the 67-68 was mainly Ca. emission carbs,you will have to check the MPC with your carb # and look at the parts list to be sure ) and the rochester 429 cj was 70-71. These were a attempt from ford to limit the adjustment of the idle mixture,a early attempt at emissions control, and if it was messed with ford serviced this cap with the C7AZ-9J500-A in blue to let it be known it was tampered with. The problem with this is that owners would simply break them off and I suspect some were discarded at pre-delivery at the dealer , I almost never found these installed even on the most un-touched cars but have found many in the intake manifold. These are what I consider the essence of detailing a car,and unlike the idle mixture caps for holley carbs that are mainly hidden by the air cleaner these sit front and center in clear view. Pictures show caps from a n.o.s carb on the left and repo on right,also pics of the blue service cap and illustrations from the service and mpc manuals,carbs pictured are a 4300 and a rochester q-jet these are typical of the boss 351 and 429 cj two of the more popular performance cars to detail. Just a note that the Nylon material naturally changes color over time so the 45 yr. n.o.s look much more yellow.This is a U.S. made part,right here in PA. and if you are not 100% satisfied just return it unused within a week . You will not find this part from any other vendor as I made it and only did a small run so if you are in need do not hesitate. ***** the base line idle mixture adjustment on most all ford carbs is seated and 1 1/2 turns out,on the rochester q-jet, ford listed this in all manuals but it is incorrect,it should be 3-4 turns out which is listed in the motorcraft rebuild kit paperwork**** |

GM plants solar field at Chevrolet Volt factory
Wed, 11 May 2011Looking to put a charge in its eco-friendly image, General Motors is installing a 264,000-square-foot solar field at the Detroit-Hamtramck assembly plant that builds the Chevrolet Volt plug-in hybrid sedan. The solar field, being built in cooperation with utility DTE Energy, will generate 516 kilowatts. GM says that’s enough power to charge up 150 Volts every day for a year.
